Questions from site owners
Does it really cost nothing to host PlugEV chargers?
With the Host & Earn and Land Lease models, PlugEV pays for the chargers, installation, software and maintenance. You provide the parking spaces and, for Host & Earn, access to an electrical supply. Electricity use is metered and settled transparently as part of your agreement.
How is the revenue share calculated and paid?
Your share is a percentage of net charging revenue from your site, agreed in your contract. You can see every session in your host dashboard, and payouts are made monthly with a detailed statement.
How long is a hosting agreement?
Host agreements typically run 5–10 years, reflecting the life of the equipment. Land leases are usually longer. We'll agree terms, including exit options, before any work starts.
Will EV charging overload my building's electricity?
No. Our chargers use dynamic load balancing, which monitors your building's demand and adjusts charging power in real time so your main supply is never exceeded. We assess capacity during the free site survey.
Can I offer free or discounted charging to my customers or staff?
Yes. You can offer free sessions, discount codes or private access for staff, residents, members or hotel guests, all managed from the PlugEV platform.
Who handles maintenance and driver support?
We do. Chargers are monitored 24/7, most issues are fixed remotely, and our technicians handle on-site repairs. Drivers contact PlugEV support directly, so your staff don't need to.
